Health Care Reform Resolution
We are often asked "How can I get more involved?" If you are registered as a Democrat in Adams County, you are automatically a member of the Adams County Democratic Party. You are welcome to attend the monthly Executive Board meeting of the officers, captains and co-captains, and elected officials.
The Adams County Democrats has multiple social clubs for those who are looking for other ways to spend time with individuals who share thier values. These include the AdDems, AdFemDems, Latino Initiative, The Janes, and the Young Dems. For more information, click here.
Congratulations to all of our candidates and newly elected officials. Thank you to all of the volunteers and campaign workers who helped make the 2008 election a history-making event. We will all remember where we were on November 4, 2008. Please stay involved. Remember, "all politics is local."

The following healthcare reform resolution was passed by the Executive Committee meeting at the December 17 meeting: Whereas, all Americans deserve and have a right to healthcare and medical services; and, Whereas, the people of Adams County deserve to have affordable access to quality health care regardless of their employment status, health condition, or economic level; and, Whereas, health care and health insurance reform is now being considered in the U.S. Congress and U.S. Senate; Now, therefore, be it resolved that: The Executive Committee of the Adams County Democratic Party requests our elected representatives in Congress to support and vote for a strong healthcare reform bill which will eliminate denial of coverage based on pre-existing conditions, eliminate rescission of existing coverage, will bring down cost of insurance coverage and medical treatment, and authorize a public option that provides Americans the choice of a not-for-profit insurance provider. |
