2009 IN REVIEW:
A review of several recent Ad-Dems fun events:  In December, the annual Holiday Dinner was a great event with delicious food and several auction opportunities.  It was my pleasure to present the Ad-Dem of the Year to Bob Knapp.  Carol and Debbie Neiswonger did the auctions, with Bev Bishop doing an admi-rable job in the quarter auction.  And, of course, Dennis Gallagher is always worth the price of admission just to enjoy spending money with his joyful, informative live auction.  Over 100 guests enjoyed the even-ing at Ciancio’s Hyland Hills Restaurant.
November we had more than a bus load visit the state Capitol and we thank Sen. Mary Hodge and Rep. Cherylin Peniston for the arrangements and refreshments for this rare evening Capitol visit.  Sens. Lois Tochtrop and Pat Steadman chipped in to chair the mock committee hearing presented by Karen Dunn & Bob Knapp.  We now know who represents the people of Colorado and how a bill becomes a law with their excellent program.  October saw Ad-Dems & friends play mini golf at Adventure Golf on the first really dark, cold, windy night of the season, but it certainly is memorable for those who attended and played.  Ad-Dems also visited the Edelweiss Club in Commerce City for Oktoberfest and a night of German culture, including dancing and the Club’s entertainment, as
well as food. In Aug. we traveled to the Historic Central City Masonic Temple for a tour and a delicious pig roast.  A June visit to Historic Rliverside Cemetery proved very interesting and we didn’t leave anyone behind.  Dennis Gallagher also narrated that tour.  Oh, and we donated funds to the Adams County Democratic Party!
2010 : So far in 2010, we’ve been busy and the varied activities have been successful and in-teresting, thanks to Ad-Dems members and friends.  January saw a visit to three historical Globeville churches with Denver City Auditor Dennis Gallagher as our narrator.  By all reports, even though the weather was cold, the hospitality was warm in Globeville.
MARCH 4 – JOHN HICKENLOOPER to speak; Election OF AD-DEMS OFFICERS
The March meeting will hold the interest of all members, with Mayor John Hickenlooper, the Demo-cratic candidate for Governor of Colorado coming as our guest speaker. Â This will be a great opportunity to meet him and hear him speak at no cost. Â We will also be holding our election of officers of the Ad-Dems Club. Â Your five-dollar 2010 annual dues allows you to vote. Â We are expecting a large crowd for this program, so we are holding the meeting at the Pipefitters Hall, 6350 Broadway.
