If you are registered as a Democrat in Adams County, you are automatically a member of the Adams County Democratic Party.   You are welcome to attend the monthly Executive Board meeting of the officers, captains and co-captains, and elected officials.

CO House District 32: Edward Casso

Representative Edward Casso is the Colorado State Representative for House District 32 in Adams County. He is a member of the Business Affairs and Labor Committee (former Vice-Chair), and was the Deputy Whip during the 66th General Assembly in his first term. Rep. Casso was first elected to his post in 2006, was re-elected in 2008, and is up for reelection in 2010. Rep. Casso is the first person in his extended family to attend university, and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Philosophy. He is currently a master’s degree candidate at Regis University studying social justice.

Rep. Casso has been active in politics over 18 years. He was president of the CU College Democrats, was a precinct committeeperson in Boulder· County, and was·on the vacancy committee that appointed Senator Ron Tupa to the and was General Assembly in1994. He also served as an intern for former Congressman David Skaggs in his district office in his freshman year at CU. In Adams County, Rep. Casso has chaired the Young Democrats, was a precinct captain, and has helped many local Democrats get elected. Rep. Casso has had great success not only in promoting traditional Democratic ideal, but has shown strong leadership and a real commitment to helping underserved communities, working families, and the working poor. He has sponsored legislation to cut dropout rates, to promote public confidence in our election process, numerous bills to protect those who cannot fight for themselves, to make standardized school testing more accurate and accountable, and to give stronger voices to workers.

In 2007, Rep. Casso was honored with the LARASA leadership award in recognition of his outstanding educational service to the Latino community. In 2008, Rep. Casso was named the Rising Star of the Colorado Democratic Party. In 2009, he was named Mental Health of America Colorado's Legislator of the Year. Rep. Casso resides in Commerce City, CO and has two children, Cecelia and Aristotle.
